Both Achilleus and Hektor are powerful warriors preparing to fight, and Hektor recognizes that the gods may determine who wins. However, Achilleus is described as aggressively charging with a heart full of savage fury, while Hektor waits and hesitates. Achilleus appears almost supernatural because his armor and spear shine like fire, the sun, and a bright star. In contrast, Hektor is shown as vulnerable because he shivers when he sees Achilleus approaching.
