Read the beginning of the sentence.Historical fiction is a genre based on historical information, ________.Which is the best way to complete the sentence above?

The sentence contrasts two genres: historical fiction is based on historical information, while science fiction is based on ideas about the future. “While” connects those contrasting ideas clearly. “Because” suggests one genre is the reason for the other, and “likewise” incorrectly suggests they are similar.
