Which best describes Toby’s role on the plantation in "The People Could Fly?"

Toby is an enslaved man who secretly helps others escape by teaching them the words that let them fly away. This makes C, “He helps other enslaved people escape,” the best description. He does not oversee their work or give them magical powers himself.
