"She's only filled / with an old blind wish. / It isn't even hers but came to her / in the rain or the soft wind / which is a gate through which her life keeps walking."

The speaker describes a wish that comes to the animal through natural forces, such as rain or soft wind, and says her life keeps moving through that “gate.” This suggests she is guided by nature rather than simply acting stubbornly or facing no interference. So the best choice is “Animals are gently guided by nature.”
