Read the excerpt from Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. "This here's an important decision, Cassie, very important—I want you to understand that—but I think you can handle it. Now, you listen to me, and you listen good. This thing, if you make the wrong decision and Charlie Simms gets involved, then I get involved and there'll be trouble."
Answer
A
He thinks it will cause problems between himself and Cassie.
B
He thinks it will bring peace between himself and Charlie Simms.
C
He thinks it will cause problems between himself and Charlie Simms.
D
He thinks it will bring peace between himself and Cassie.
Explanation
He warns Cassie that if she makes the wrong decision, Charlie Simms will get involved, and then he will get involved too. That would create trouble between him and Charlie Simms, not bring peace. The correct choice is “He thinks it will cause problems between himself and Charlie Simms.”
