Imagine you’re a farmer in the Middle East. What are some natural dangers or natural disasters you would expect to face? In a short paragraph, describe two of these disasters and explain what you would do to prepare for them.

Answer:

I would be especially concerned about drought and locust swarms. To prepare for drought, I would conserve water, use efficient irrigation, and plant crops that can withstand dry conditions. To prepare for locust swarms, I would monitor warnings and protect crops with barriers where possible, while following local guidance on controlling the insects.
