Which of the following actions would a person need to avoid when caught outside during a thunderstorm in order to minimize the risk of being hurt by lightning?

Avoid walking across wet, open land during a thunderstorm. Wet ground can conduct electrical current from a nearby lightning strike, and open areas leave you exposed. Hiding in an enclosed shelter or taking cover in a low structure is safer; a plastic umbrella does not offer meaningful lightning protection.
