Read this paragraph.Sophie believed that she deserved a raise. She had been earning the same wage for two years, and her work responsibilities had greatly increased. She was often asked to train new waitstaff, and she knew her employer valued her expertise. When her employer arrived at work, Sophie started the conversation.
Answer
A
Sophie has become a responsible employee.
B
It is important to train new employees.
C
People in positions of power should treat others kindly.
D
People must assert themselves to get what they want.
Explanation
Sophie believes she deserves a raise and has reasons to support her request: her pay has stayed the same while her responsibilities have increased. She starts a conversation with her employer rather than waiting for the employer to offer a raise. This best illustrates that people must assert themselves to get what they want.
