To log in to Subject.com, go to app.subject.com and use the method your school set up. For most students that's a single sign-on button: Clever, ClassLink, Google or Microsoft. Some schools issue a direct email and password instead. The marketing site at subject.com is not where you do your classes.

Almost every Subject login problem comes down to one of four things: the wrong portal, the wrong account inside the right button, school-issued credentials you don't have yet, or a browser setting blocking the sign-in. Here's how to work out which one you've hit and fix it.

Which Subject login should you use?

The login page at app.subject.com/login shows several options. Pick based on how your school gave you access:

If your school...Use this
Uses a Clever portal for appsSign in to Clever, then click the Subject tile (or the Clever button on Subject)
Uses ClassLink LaunchPadSign in to ClassLink, then click Subject (or the ClassLink button)
Gave you a school Google accountContinue with Google, using your school email
Gave you a school Microsoft accountContinue with Microsoft, using your school email
Sent you a Subject email and passwordThe email and password fields on the login page

If you're not sure, check the welcome email or the instructions from your teacher. When in doubt, the button your school uses for everything else (your school Google or Microsoft account, or the Clever/ClassLink portal) is usually the right one.

Logging in step by step

  1. 1Open a normal browser window (not incognito) on a computer or Chromebook.
  2. 2Go to app.subject.com. If you land on subject.com, look for the login link or type the app address directly.
  3. 3Pick the sign-in method your school uses.
  4. 4If a Google or Microsoft account picker appears, choose your school account, not a personal one.
  5. 5You should land on your Home page with your enrolled courses. Click a course to continue where you left off.

Common Subject login problems and fixes

Wrong portal

If you searched 'Subject login' and clicked the first result, you may have landed on the marketing site or a teacher-facing page. Students sign in at app.subject.com. Bookmark it once you're in.

SSO account mismatch

This is the most common one. You click Continue with Google, the browser silently uses your personal Gmail, and Subject says it can't find an account or shows no courses. Sign out of the personal account, or open the account picker and choose your school email. The same applies to Microsoft. If you use Clever or ClassLink, log in through the portal first so the right identity is passed along.

School-issued credentials you don't have

If your school set up direct logins, you can't create a Subject account yourself. Use the password reset link if you have the email, otherwise ask your teacher or school tech contact to resend your credentials. Subject Virtual School students should use the login instructions their school sent.

Browser issues

  • •Clear cookies for subject.com and try again. Stale sessions cause redirect loops.
  • •Allow pop-ups and third-party cookies for the sign-in, since some SSO flows rely on them.
  • •Update your browser. Subject works best in a current version of Chrome or Edge.
  • •Turn off other extensions one at a time if a page loads blank. Ad blockers and older video extensions are the usual suspects.
  • •Try another network. School content filters sometimes block parts of the sign-in when you're on a different network than usual.

Logged in, but no courses

If you can sign in but your Home page is empty, you're either in the wrong account or your teacher hasn't enrolled you yet. Check the account first, then message your teacher.

Once you're in, Revolt runs inside your Subject session. No Subject password needed.

Where Revolt shows up after you log in

Revolt doesn't log in for you and never asks for your Subject password. You sign in to Subject normally, and the Revolt script works inside that logged-in tab. Once you open a course, the Revolt widget appears on the page with the features you've turned on: Auto Instructions for videos, Auto Quiz for checks, quizzes and Engage activities, written answers, Auto Project and Auto Advance.

If the widget doesn't appear, make sure the script is enabled in Tampermonkey, your key is activated (or your account is linked at /link), and you're on app.subject.com rather than the marketing site. Tampermonkey doesn't run in incognito unless you allow it, which is another reason to use a normal window.

One limit worth knowing: Subject sessions can expire after long idle stretches, and Revolt's Anti Logout feature isn't available on Subject. If you're running long sessions, check in occasionally, or use Work Hours so the work happens while you're around. The Subject review covers how the platform works more broadly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Subject.com login page?+

Students sign in at app.subject.com (the login page is app.subject.com/login). The main subject.com site is marketing, not your classes.

Can I log in to Subject with Google?+

Yes, if your school uses Google accounts. Use Continue with Google and pick your school email, not a personal Gmail.

Why does Subject say my account doesn't exist?+

Usually the wrong account was used in the Google or Microsoft picker, or you tried to log in directly when your school uses Clever or ClassLink. Switch to your school account or log in through your school's portal.

How do I reset my Subject password?+

If your school issued a direct login, use the reset link on the login page. If you sign in with Clever, ClassLink, Google or Microsoft, reset the password with your school, not Subject.

Does Revolt need my Subject login?+

No. You log in to Subject yourself, and the Revolt script works inside that browser tab.
