Read this excerpt from We Beat the Street. The Seton Hall representative continued, "You will receive academic, career, and personal counseling. An advisor will help you plan course work in preparation for advanced-level science courses.""Some of that stuff is really hard. Suppose a person messes up?" Sampson asked."Tutoring in key science disciplines is offered at least two times per week—more if you need it. You’re never alone."What is the central idea of this passage?
Answer
A
Seton Hall students work much harder than students at other schools.
B
Seton Hall has a support system in place to help students succeed.
C
Seton Hall students are required to attend tutoring classes every week.
D
Seton Hall has the best medical and science programs in the country.
Explanation
The representative describes several kinds of help Seton Hall provides: academic, career, and personal counseling, course planning, and tutoring in science subjects. Together, these details show that the school has a support system to help students succeed. Tutoring is offered, not stated as required, so C is too strong.
