Question 10 • TX-World Geography Studies
Answer:
Antarctica is the coldest, driest, and windiest continent, and it is also the highest on average. Nearly all of its land is covered by a massive ice sheet. Its extreme and relatively undisturbed environment attracts scientific study because researchers can examine ice cores for evidence of past climates, monitor changes in ice and sea levels, study the atmosphere and climate, and observe ecosystems and wildlife adapted to polar conditions.
