The manufacture of cotton was a new industry, developing with great promise in the United States, when Susan B. Anthony was born on February 15, 1820, in the wide valley at the foot of Mt. Greylock, near Adams, Massachusetts.

Explanation

A biography is an account of a real person’s life written by someone else. Choice D gives factual details about Susan B. Anthony’s birth and the historical setting, which are typical of a biography. Choice B is written in the first person, so it is an autobiography; the other choices are a story scene and a letter.
